Inside Sarasota’s New Wave of Private Social Clubs

These clubs are all about connection and exclusivity but come with price tags that vary by venue and perks. Some focus on social gatherings and cocktails, others mix lifestyle with business networking, and all of them reflect a shift in how people in Sarasota want to gather and belong in 2025.

St. Armands Gets a $13.5M Boost Against Flooding

Sarasota County has approved a big investment to help protect St. Armands Circle from flooding. The County Commission signed off on a $13.5 million grant through the Resilient SRQ Infrastructure Program to fix and upgrade stormwater systems around the Circle.

The focus is on improving how water moves off the streets after storms so local businesses and residents are less likely to get soaked in future hurricanes and heavy rains. This funding comes as part of broader resiliency efforts following intense weather events that hit the area. The work aims to make this iconic spot stronger and better able to bounce back when the next storm rolls through.
