Happy Tuesday, Sarasota!
February's here, and Sarasota's food scene is heating up. A new scratch kitchen just opened its doors, a beloved Siesta Key pub is making the move to the mainland, and there's plenty more to dig into this week. Let's get to it.

๐ฐ Local Headline Roundup
Kitchen Social Opens First Florida Location
The Ohio-based scratch kitchen just landed on N. Cattleman Drive, bringing its signature cheddar-scallion biscuits (two-thirds of tables order them) and a compact, globally-inspired menu to Sarasota. Indoor-outdoor seating, a 40-foot nano wall, and an average check around $25 make it a solid new spot for date nights or weekly regulars.
New Boys & Girls Club Coming to Newtown
The City Commission just gave unanimous approval for a brand new 21,760-square-foot McBean Boys & Girls Club to replace the aging facility on 21st Street. The new building will include a gym, tech lab, art studio, game room, and a teen center open until midnight on Fridays. Best part? The current club stays open until the new one's finished โ no disruption for the kids.
๐ฆ Spotlight: 131 Main Review
131 Main is a newer spot in Lakewood Ranch that nails the basics. The service is genuinely good โ you're greeted warmly and seated right away.
The menu is American with some thoughtful tweaks that make it more interesting than the usual fare. Food was solid across the board.
One note: the desserts didn't quite land, so maybe grab something sweet elsewhere after.
